Watch Ratchet & Clank’s new story trailer
While this specific trailer focuses on the game’s story, James Stevenson, Community Lead of Insomniac Games, talked about the relationship between this title and the connected film. Captain Quark explains the games plot while carefully trying not to give too much credit to the Lombax and his robotic companion.

To get people excited for the release, Insomniac Games has released a new story driven trailer on the PlayStation Blog. “The film and game are designed as complementary pieces”, he stated.
The game is set to sync up with the upcoming movie of the same name, with Insomniac calling this game the ultimate version of Ratchet & Clank’s origin story. Our goal was to take advantage of what each medium does best.
The latest Ratchet & Clank game will be available to purchase from April 12th, 2016 and the movie created by Gramercy Films launches shortly afterwards on April 29th, 2016, with both movie and game tying in together.

However, while the film focuses more on the story and character development, the game will be told from Captain Copernicus L. Qwark’s egocentric perspective. You will be able to romp around the Solana galaxy with Ratchet, Clank, Captain Qwark and the dastardly Chairman Drek, as well as many brand new characters to the franchise. “He gets all the big details right, but the little asides are all him”. The video game adaptation opens in theaters on April 29.
