Hugh Jackman rescues son and other swimmers from rip at Bondi Beach

“The Wolverine” actor helped his teenage son and other beachgoers who were caught in a riptide while on Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, on Saturday.

Footage emerged that showed the X-Men star saving a man caught in the rip and pulling him to safety before going to save his son a few moments later.

The Australian actor (47) was filmed saving his son Oscar (15), daughter Ava Eliot (10) and others on Bondi Beach earlier today. He then grabbed my hand to get us up,”Adam said”.

Lifeguards used boards and jetskis to get to other swimmers, according to 9 News in Australia.

‘He stopped and helped this bloke stand up and he also helped his son, ‘ the witness said.

Jackman could also be seen waving to swimmers in an effort to get them to come in.

Jackman arrived in Sydney on Friday, after a month-long stint promoting his latest film “Eddie the Eagle”.

The North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club took to Instagram to thank Jackman and the surf lifesavers on duty for their actions.

A number of Sydney’s beaches were closed due to unsafe surf Saturday, including Bronte and Maroubra.
