They thought Trump would be such an unpopular nominee that the party would face a historic disaster in November. The question is, can he beat Hillary Clinton? At an Oshkosh manufacturing plant, Cruz was introduced by his wife, who praised him as her “best friend and partner”.

Both Cruz and Trump promise to restrict immigration to the United States as a means of protecting us from radical Islamist terrorism. Lindsey Graham, R-SC, and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who called for Utah voters to back Cruz.

Trump extended his lead over nearest competitor Cruz in the all-important delegate race, although the arch-conservative senator from Texas made a night of it by resoundingly winning the Utah caucuses.

But Trump also noted that the tabloid has been right about several major stories, including allegations that former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards had had an affair and a child with a woman who wasn’t his wife.

The Twitter spat came the same day voters in Arizona chose Trump as the GOP candidate, and voters in Utah chose Cruz. They all look miserable.

Hillary Clinton is in even a stronger position than Trump, nearly three-quarters of the way to the Democratic nomination, and she was pressing forward Wednesday with engaging Trump on the foreign policy and national security fronts with a California speech painting him as a misfit as potential commander in chief and laying out what she’d do to keep America safe in perilous times. It would be nice moment, wouldn’t it? Or they can vote for a current Democrat who promises to increase the federal minimum wages, raise taxes and impose more bureaucratic regulations. He has indicated he leans more toward Cruz and Kasich than Trump according to Kasich, but is not ready to make an endorsement until next week.

The exchange deepened the hostility further between the two camps, which earlier this week erupted into full view when Trump accused Cruz of posting a nude photo of Melania Trump on Twitter. “Meet Melania Trump. Your Next First Lady”.

Cruz yesterday said he considered the tweet a threat and said Trump was “a bully”. “Leave Heidi the hell alone”. What this country needs is a bean-free election.

Mr Cruz is referring to an obscene rat-themed euphemism for political dirty tricks. Meanwhile, Kasich issued a statement about global cooperation in the war against terror.

The danger with no-brainer decisions is that you sometimes don’t fully think them through. Some political observers believe that he’s trying to protect the political future of his son, George P. Bush, who is the Texas land commissioner.

But time is running out to defeat Trump before the Republican convention in July. “And there’d be no reason for us to”, Kasich told reporters as he campaigned in the state, acknowledging his only hope to secure the nomination lies at a contested convention this summer in Cleveland.

A separate Bloomberg Politics poll released Wednesday also shows Clinton besting the real estate mogul by double digits.
