As of now, Oculus hadn’t mentioned as to how many headsets had been sold since January, when it consumer version first went on sale.
Instead, Facebook’s resources helped move the project along and after what seems like an eternity since it was first introduced, the consumer version of Rift has begun shipping out to buyers.
Confirmed by CEO Brendan Iribe, customers should start receiving their bundles from Monday, March 28. Recently, there have been concerns about the potential health issues caused by VR.
“It’s not going to be everyone in the whole world using virtual reality – or even gamers using virtual reality”, said Luckey.
Now the system is ready for prime time. “In that sense, it is part of a multi-year process”.
Is the PlayStation VR launch bundle worth it?
Either you’re sick of all things virtual reality-related, as between Sony’s Morpheus-turned-PlayStation VR, Valve‘s Vive headset and the original Oculus Rift, it’s just a “wait and see”-type deal”. If you have preordered Oculus Rift from the first wave, you will get the Virtual Desktop for VR program – rest of the users get it later.

It will also come with codes for copies of both Luckey’s Tale, the 3D platforming, classic style game with a VR element thrown in and Eve Valkyrie, letting players take to the stars in their own space ship to hunt one another down for sport.
