A 20-year-old woman got an early wake-up call when a massive tree crashed into her bedroom Monday morning – trapping her for hours until rescuers could unpin her from its limbs. “If you were in bed and a tree fell on you, how scared you would be and of course, the pain she was in was tremendous”. A 20 year old female, who was asleep at the time, became entrapped by the tree and debris that came to rest on top of her.

Firefighters at the scene said the tree also took down several live wires, cutting power to surrounding homes.

The victim is being treated for multiple trauma injuries and is in serious but stable condition, according to the press release. Winds were blowing at a mild 6 miles per hour and conditions were dry at the time the tree fell.

Great Neck Fire Department Chief Joshua Forst said that they’re still evaluating her at the hospital, but it does not appear she has broken limbs.

Shocked family members didn’t want to comment immediately, but told fire officials that it was a miracle she was okay.
