So with a little help from Buddy’s friends, second-seeded Oklahoma (28-7) took control early and never looked back, shutting the door on even a shred of comeback chance. Now the Vegas odds for the game have OR favored to pick up the win, though the line is very tight.

“I said, ‘Stop talking foolishness, boy”. We’ve just got to knock the shots down.

Hield did not play well in the first half, missing two free throws, a layup and going 4-for-7 in the first half.

“We didn’t pound it in”, House said. “I’m real proud of the guys for stepping up and making shots”. We just felt like we had a tough time matching up with their quickness and when we had opportunities to score we struggled. “Every mistake that we made they made us pay”.

Oklahoma lost to North Carolina in the South Regional final in 2009.

The song that plays after the Final Four is called “One Shining Moment” for a reason.

Hield passed former Texas Tech guard Andre Emmett for second place in Big 12 career scoring on his fourth 3-pointer with 4:29 left in the half. The Sooners forced the Aggies into bad shots and turnovers, and Woodard was the catalyst on offense. But Jordan Woodard’s 22 and Christian James’ 12 off the bench were more than enough to take out the cold-shooting Aggies. “That wasn’t the case in Oregon’s other three games so far”. The Aggies’ 34 percent shooting night was simply too much to overcome. Their average margin of victory was just ten points, so don’t expect them to blow the Blue Devils out of the water.

They’ve also got the scoring to back up that determination.

The best the Aggies could do was go on a 7-2 run to open the second half.

“We knew they weren’t going to quit”, Oklahoma forward Ryan Spangler said. The under is 11-2 in Oklahoma’s last 13 games.

“Were shooting stupid three pointers when we should be feeding Davis in the paint”, said Colton Kovar.

Hield’s 17 points were 14 below his average in this NCAA Tournament. And Hield might just taste a national championship. “I thought if we could get it under 10 we could put some pressure on them”. “Then the basket got a lot smaller when we started missing shots”.

Oklahoma is Final Four bound for the first time since 2002 after the Sooners 80-68 win over No. 1 OR in the Elite Eight.

Elgin Cook had 16 points and nine rebounds for the top-seeded Ducks (31-6), who will meet Oklahoma on Saturday.

The Sooners reached the Elite Eight with a blowout win over Texas A&M on Thursday.

What It Means: Oregon’s season ends a game short of the Final Four for the third time in the last 15 years.

And if OR was an underdog to Arizona, what would it have been against Oklahoma?

Brooks hit four three-pointers to lead the Ducks, who also broke the school’s single-season victories record with their 31st.

Guard Jalen Brunson iced the result with two free throws with 3.5 seconds remaining as Villanova (33-5) moved on to a matchup with West Regional champion Oklahoma next Saturday night in Houston.
