Firefighters are on scene of a 2-alarm hazmat situation at the Pasadena Courthouse on Monday, July 27, 2015.
When firefighters arrived, they battled flames and discovered containers of hazardous materials, including wood varnish, nearby, she said.
Derderian said she expected the fire investigation would be concluded before 8:30 a.m. and the courthouse could be reopened.
The blaze was reported about 1:30 a.m. on the courthouse’s third floor, according to Public Information Officer Lisa Derderian of the Pasadena Fire Department. Derderian says some business might be conducted in an adjacent building.
Some streets around the courthouse were closed, but the courthouse was open and operating on a “modified schedule”.
