Trump Has Some Bad News for Cruz in NY
The other is a committed Stop Trump movement that proved in the Badger State that it would mobilize every possible resource to block Trump.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted March 30 to April 8 asked Trump’s Republican supporters two questions: if Trump wins the most delegates in the primaries but loses the nomination, what would they do on Election Day, and how would it impact their relationship with the Republican Party?
“Mr. Trump has rescheduled his California trip and will be campaigning in NY”, said Trump campaign spokesperson Hope Hicks said in an email Thursday morning, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.
“If you look at all of the demographic subgroups that we can show, which one has the highest correlation with support for Trump or Cruz?”.
In terms of free media, Trump’s wall-to-wall coverage has earned him $1.9 billion worth of free media in nine months of campaign, according to the New York Times’ analysis, compared to $746 million for Clinton and $321 million for Sanders.
Meanwhile, the Cruz campaign emailed activists to invite them to his San Diego rally.
And here comes a guy, Simon Pure, right-winger, coming into NY, saying I’m going to clean up this NY values things you got going here. Without a first ballot win for Trump, Cruz could prevail as the victor on the second. If Trump is close to the magic number, for example, he might be able to scrounge up commitments from delegates in the five states and territories that didn’t have statewide presidential preference votes during the primary season.
“This group of states I know are supposed to be tough for him, but I think Maryland lines up the best”, Hough said of Cruz.
Trump’s daughter Ivanka made her first appearance on the campaign trail since giving birth to Trump’s eighth grandson ten days ago, introducing her real estate mogul father by praising “the strength of his character” and his ability to “do deals that were seemingly impossible”.
A Reuters/Ipsos poll on Tuesday showed Cruz about even with Trump among Republicans nationally.
“Don’t be fooled. Ted Cruz can’t win the nomination outright”, says the TV ad slated to start playing Friday in New York City and Long Island, as well as upstate New York.
On the Republican side, businessman Donald Trump leads with 41 percent among likely voters, followed by Ohio Gov. John Kasich (31 percent) and Ted Cruz (22 percent).
Maria Bartiromo, a Fox Business moderator, said she is from NY but she had no idea what “New York values” were. Or wait: what if the alternative were to be Donald Trump! So Cruz said to much appreciation from the audience, “You are from NY so you might not, but I promise you here in the state of SC, they do”.
The survey also found that in a head-to-head contest, Clinton was supported by 44 percent, Trump by 35 percent, with 7 percent undecided. “Given the wide diversity in NY, I think it will be a definitive moment”, Cox said.
Cruz called Wisconsin a “turning point”.
“Utah and NY are two different states”, he said.
Trump will not be Cruz’s only obstacle in the northeast.
One senior Republican operative said the challenge now is for Trump to surround himself with handful of experienced operatives that he trusts to make decisions on his behalf.
“It’s hard. We’ve got to win and we’ve got to win consistently”, Cruz said.

Likewise, Trump said he would open a convention-planning office in Washington, D.C., to also house its delegate-selection team. In the Empire State, a candidate must receive 20 percent of the vote to be eligible for delegates at the congressional district level, which make up most of the state’s 95 delegates up for grabs on April 19.
