VP Biden: Change culture to combat sex assault on campuses
Biden is coming to UNLV’s Cox Pavilion Thursday at 1:30 p.m.as part of the “It’s On Us” campaign. Some estimates show that as many as one in five women are assaulted during their college years.

Mr McGorry added that he has never had to think about issues like scheduling a first date in public for his safety, or the outfit he wore in case it attracted the wrong type of attention, or being called a “slut” for sleeping with someone. “You’re not alone, we will do better, we must do better”, he said. “It is not a woman’s responsibly not to get raped or assaulted, it is a man’s responsibility not to rape or assault”.
The surprise Oscars team-up of Vice President Joe Biden and pop superstar Lady Gaga did so well, they’re taking it on the road-which, lucky for us, leads to UNLV.
Sexual assault education is especially pertinent to college campuses, according to Suzy Hinkle, president of Pitt’s Women’s Organization.

At one point, Biden was nearly yelling while sharing his frustration over the idea that women encourage acts of violence with their actions or clothing. Students at more than 500 schools have held related events, and more than 327,000 people have made the pledge. The goal of the campaign, beside supporting survivors and stopping further assaults, is to make sure that this is a conversation that is no longer pushed to the side on college campuses.
