Cruz outmaneuvering Trump in hand-to-hand GOP delegate fight
Cruz hasn’t stressed the term during his campaign in New York, but he hasn’t backed away when asked about it. He said he was referring to Democratic politics that dominate New York City, led by Democratic politicians Trump has supported in the past. “John Kasich”, the voiceover states.

And despite Trump’s troubles, it is Cruz who is viewed more negatively among California Republicans since the last Field Poll in January showed the senator from Texas with a narrow lead in the race. That could be a problem for Trump, who could end up with delegates who are required to vote for him on the first ballot, but can switch to someone else on subsequent ballots should they desire. If so, he surely must recognize after Wisconsin’s balloting that his 31st loss out of 32 contests tells him something.
Trump’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment, but he has previously complained that caucuses are unrepresentative, and said that delegate fights are tricks to subvert the voters’ will.
On Thursday, she took a quick trip on the New York City subway.
“Doing what Ted did yesterday in Wisconsin, Donald doing that in NY when there’s twice as many delegates I think would go towards establishing that, absolutely”, Brown said of Trump achieving the Republican nomination.
With 159 of those delegates being determined by who wins the most votes in each of the state’s 53 congressional districts, Trump needs to poll well throughout California. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, listens, during the Republican presidential debate sponsored by CNN, Salem Media Group and the Washington Times at the University of Miami, Thursday, March 10, 2016, in Coral Gables, Fla. Their choices may be the most important in 40 years – which is how long it has been since no one locked up the nomination before the national convention. Kasich has his strongest showing in the San Francisco Bay Area, the poll found. But Trump has done his part to help Cruz in recent weeks with his loutish treatment of women and his inability to talk competently about abortion policy.
Republican New York Chairman Ed Cox said he believed the state could decide the nomination.
“I am stumping for Trump!” she said.
Trump didn’t let the Politico reporting go unanswered. It has a sampling error margin of plus or minus 4 percentage points for likely voters.
If Trump loses the primary at the convention, his failure to send such poets to Cleveland will be one reason why. It takes support from 30-percent or more of assembly-goers to get on the primary ballot. “I see more and more people actively paying attention”.
Virginia Beaumont, a retired nurse and poll respondent from Amador County, said she supports Trump because she does not trust politicians.
“I think it’s time for a housecleaning”, he said.
But George Baker, a 91-year-old retired engineer from Campbell, said he found Trump’s antics “deplorable”.
“I think New Yorkers are excited because all the excitement has gone to Iowa and New Hampshire, and now NY is finally getting some attention”, Andrew Wolpin, a rabbi who attended Cruz’s Brooklyn event, said during an interview. “I would have to write a list of the reasons why I don’t like him”.

Not that voters have all that much love for those rivals. There are 2.472 Republican delegates. Bernie Sanders held his own against the establishment favorite and front runner, Hillary Clinton in the Democratic race.
