Suge Knight Claims Dr. Dre Was Behind 2014 Club Shooting

Knight is now in jail awaiting trial for his role in a fatal 2015 hit-and-run where he was seen running over and killing a man who confronted him on the set of Straight Outta Compton.

Culpepper’s motion added that the same detective “informed Knight that the gunman stated that Dr. Dre paid him and a friend $50,000 to kill Knight”. He said that the detective in Knight’s murder case also investigated the 2014 shooting.

The newly filed legal docs claim that a Sheriff’s deputy was working at 1OAK in West Hollywood during the 2014 VMA weekend, when he opened the venue doors to the would be gunman.

It is safe to say that Dr. Dre and Suge Knight have not had the best relationship since parting ways as business partners in the mid-1990s.

Furthermore, the motion accuses authorities of keeping Knight in an exhaustive lockdown, cutting off all communication with the outside world in order to prevent him from “connecting” Dre’s alleged failed hit with the murder charge he’s now facing. The documents go on to allege that an off-duty sheriff’s deputy was seen on surveillance video letting the two men into the club and later seen at the airport helping them flee the country.

Dr. Dre calls the allegations “ridiculous”.

Culpepper filed the lengthy motion on Friday in a bid to unseal these orders.

It alleges investigators “wanted Timms to lie and state that Knight confessed that he meant to run over Carter”.

The lawyer even took aim at three judges overseeing Knight’s current legal matters.

According to the Daily News, a DA spokeswoman offered no comment on the allegations and the Sheriff’s Department also did not respond to a request for comment. The reason for not allowing Knight’s privileges has been under seal.
