1-2 inches of snow expected to fall in midstate Saturday
This is where we expect snow to be the steadiest and the most widespread, especially from midnight until noon tomorrow. Expect wind gusts of up to 21 miles per hour Saturday.

Monday | Mix of sun and clouds. We’ll be monitoring the forecast to see how it’s going to come in.
Both Saturday and Sunday will be partly sunny with highs in the low- to mid-30s.
Our weather picture becomes tricky and potentially wintry starting around sunrise Saturday. A developing ocean storm looks to stay mainly south of the area.
Will it be rain, or will it be snow?
Saturday Night: Scattered flurries. Highs in the upper 40s and lows in the mid 30s. And while the snow is expected to move east Saturday, don’t plan a picnic: The cold is hanging around for at least another day.
Officially, a trace of precipitation was recorded at the Dane County Regional Airport on Thursday, leaving Madison’s April precipitation total (rain plus snow converted to liquid) at 0.71 inches, 0.02 inches below normal. Snow may mix in. Lows in the mid 20s, highs near 50.
Most of Western Pennsylvania saw a fresh coating of snow Friday morning. Soil temperatures are in the mid 40s right now. Tonight, a chance of rain showers before 5 a.m., then a chance of rain and snow showers. This storm will bring a 50- to 100-mile-wide swath of snow from IL to New Jersey.
WARNINGS OR ADVISORIES? None have been issued at this time. Couple the clouds and the wind, highs won’t get much above 35°.
WEDNESDAY: Partly sunny. Lows in the low 50s, highs in the low to mid 60s. The first week of April has been 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit cooler.
The cooling trend will continue Friday when the high will reach only 56. That will cause a drop in temperatures at some point on Tuesday. Also all the precipitation will be liquid.
The concern for the weekend is a storm system moving from the Ohio Valley to the mid-Atlantic coastline and then out to sea.
Looking ahead, the forecast for Saturday could involve snow. Right now I’m leaning towards little or no impact at this time.
