ATLANTA – St. Louis clubbed three pinch-hit homers, including the go-ahead shot from Alydmys Diaz in the eighth inning, to overcome a four-run deficit and defeat Atlanta at Turner Field.

Reyes, 32, is on paid administrative leave while Major League Baseball completes its investigation of him under its new domestic violence policy. The 23-year-old rookie is the first player ever to homer in his first four major league games and has six total.

Matt Kemp lit it up Friday evening going 4-for-6 with a home run and four RBI as the San Diego Padres defeated Colorado.

The Padres are 8-20 in their last 28 vs. National League West and 0-5 in their last 5 games following an off day. Bumgarner hit one of his five home runs last season off Kershaw, a mistake the Los Angeles left-hander didn’t plan to make again.

Story was the talk of the spring, slugging his way to earning the starting shortstop spot.

That makes it six home runs in the first four games of his career.

There was one consolation for Melvin Upton Jr., and the San Diego Padres during their record scoring drought to start this season. Colin Ray was pulled quickly after the home run matching Lyles 3.1 innings pitched.

The Rockies open up tomorrow against the Padres. But the Padres struck quickly against relievers Chris Rusin and Justin Miller.Rusin, who relieved starter Jordan Lyles (0-1) in the fourth, gave up hits to the two batters he faced as seven straight Padres batters reached base with one out during that uprising. Kemp collected three singles to go with his three-run blast, raising his average to. They did not score a single run in their first 30 innings before unloading on the Rockies’ arms for 13 runs on 18 hits.

Rather, the Rockies’ tale of woe continues to be poor pitching, something on full display Friday afternoon in their home opener against San Diego in front of a sellout crowd of 49,360 at Coors Field. De La Rosa has a 48-16 career record at Coors Field.
