Robert Doyle, who later claimed that Gonzalez had tried to “brake check” him, owns a legal weapons permit that allows him to carry a loaded gun in his auto.
A horrific road rage shooting in the tiny community of Beverly Hills, Florida, left a 44-year-old dad dead last Thursday, slain as his wife, daughter and grandson, all passengers in the landscaping truck he drove, watched him die.
WTSP reports that on the tape of the 911 call, police say Doyle can be heard saying he is going to shoot the victim in the head and Gonzalez’s wife repeatedly says “don’t shoot”. Gonzalez had called police and reported that Doyle was “driving like an idiot”.
A Florida grandfather was killed in front of his wife, daughter and grandson when a spell of road rage turned deadly, deputies said – and the terrifying shooting was caught on two harrowing 911 calls.
“I have some maniac trying to follow me, trying to run me off the road”, said Doyle.
“My gun is already out”. At that time, shots were fired. Meanwhile, the family of Candelario Gonzalez has planned his funeral for Friday at 11 a.m.
Gonzalez got out of the truck.
Cathy Gonzalez can be heard wailing, “He killed my husband!”
Doyle was on his cell phone talking to another dispatcher. “It’s cocked and locked”, said Doyle. “The guy kept charging at him”.
Gonzalez was driving in his lawn care truck (pictured) while Doyle was in a Kia Soul.
. He said Gonzalez followed him home and “threatened to kick his ass” which is when Doyle pulled out his gun, put a round in the chamber and pointed it at him.
Doyle then forced Cathy Gonzalez out of the auto as Candelerio Gonzalez lay dying nearby.
Then Doyle trained the gun on Cathy Gonzales and the two children, ages 7 and 8, ordering them out of the auto.
When police arrived, they arrested Doyle.

“Please help me!” screamed Cathy into her phone. Doyle is being charged with second degree murder and three counts of aggravated assault.
