As Robinson slept at around 5:30 a.m. ET, Carlos sped down Interstate 81 in Kirkwood, N.Y., near the Pennsylvania border, where police clocked him at 86 miles per hour.

20-year-old Juan Carlos of the Bronx, New York got an Uber in Philadelphia on Saturday, and his driver was a guy named Corey Robinson. During the ride, Uber driver Robinson became exhausted and asked his passenger Carlos to drive while he took a nap.

Robinson was released, but Carlos is facing myriad charges. He then took the North Road exit after which state troopers lost sight of the auto. A police chase ensued after the troopers tried to stop Carlos and he refused to budge and headed north.

The Uber driver told police he awoke mid-chase and asked the Bronx man why he was driving so fast and Carlos responded because the police were chasing them. However, only a few minutes later, they saw the vehicle had crashed into a guardrail on Sanitaria Springs Road in the Town of Colesville. Carlos was charged with multiple traffic violations, including driving without a license and unlawfully fleeing a police officer in the third degree. Two subjects were located after a short search and taken into custody. He and Corey both wound up with minor injuries.

An Uber spokeswoman said that Robinson and Carlos’ Uber accounts have been suspended while the matter is investigated. Carlos was arrested and charged with several misdemeanors, while Robinson was sent home with, at the very least, one hell of a story.
