Janet Jackson cancels world tour, Tucson performance

Singer Janet Jackson has postponed her world tour because she is “planning a family” and been ordered to rest by her doctor. Therefore, the halt in her performances is temporary and she would return to the music industry soon.

“Please, if you can, try to understand that it’s important that I do this now”, she said in a two-minute video posted to Twitter.

You know, that’s probably not the reality of it, but it went for such a long period of time that we thought it was. “But I have not forgotten about you”.

Jackson, who returned to the top of the Billboard charts previous year with her eleventh album, Unbreakable, is married to fashion tycoon Wissam Al Mana. It is her third marriage.

Although she has been married twice before, to musicians James DeBarge and Rene Elizondo, she has no children. That marriage lasted three months.

Aside from the announcement, Jackson also reiterated in the video how she loves her fans. In late December, she attributed a tour delay to her need to recover from an unspecified surgery. She said she couldn’t wait to get started again. “Hey you guys, on August 31 I launched the “Unbreakable” world tour”. Thank you so much… “I’ll see you soon”. The “All for You” singer didn’t reveal her medical condition at the time, but denied rumors she had throat cancer. They were not given a specific date as to when Janet Jackson will be back to finish the second leg of her tour.

Jackson said at the time the North American leg of her “Unbreakable” tour would resume May 14 in Las Vegas. The second part of the tour planned to make stops in Houston, Detroit, Atlanta, New York, and more.
