West Indies, who were 11-3 in pursuit of England’s 155-9, needed 19 off the final over to win and did it in style.

The pair’s famous grudge erupted again in the final of the World Twenty20 when Samuels chose to use his post-match media interviews as an opportunity to attack Warne.

“Obviously the final was disappointing, but I’m extremely proud of the way they played through this last few weeks”, he said.

The match went to the last over.

Bayliss also expressed the hope that England’s success in the tournament, when they defeated South Africa, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and New Zealand in between their two losses to the West Indies, would have a wider impact on the English game.

Samuels’s feet up antics was in stark contrast to what he says he is in life.

Totally, it has been the great year for West Indies cricket.

“We are all responsible men”.

“Really happy for this win, it’s something we’ll cherish for a long time”.

In the process, the West Indies also became the first two-time winners of the men’s World Twenty20. Sammy, who dedicated the win to the fans, however criticised the WICB and sided with CARICOM (Caribbean Community and Common Market) political leaders, who have called for the Dave Cameron-led executive of the WICB to be disbanded.

In shock, Stokes took his own time to come to terms with what had unfolded in front of him even has his entire team surrounded him in consolation.

“They keep telling him when we play against him “do not speak to me because I’m going to perform”.

Nasser Hussain is convinced that Ben Stokes will learn from England’s defeat to the West Indies in the World T20 final.

“I don’t listen to (commentary) … if we’re not playing I’ll listen to them with other teams, but when we’re playing I don’t read the paper. So I know I have to be right there till the end today again”.

He bailed his side out from a rocky start with 54 hard-fought runs and then took an unlikely starring role with the ball, dismissing Chris Gayle and Johnson Charles in a dizzyingly effective one-over experiment.

“Shane Warne has been talking continuously and all I want to say is this is for Shane Warne”.

“I don’t want to comment on his job or on Marlon’s feelings, but I can comment on the way I felt through Australia and I know I was a bit hard for the stick that he was copping”.

It came after Warne angrily yelled, “F*** you, Marlon!” after the Windies big-hitter had earlier grabbed Melbourne Stars teammate David Hussey’s shirt.

“This team can go a long way and it definitely makes me excited with the Champions Trophy and World Cup [in 2017 and 2019] coming up”, said Bayliss.

“An absolutely incredible knock that Marlon played”. I spent most of my career standing at first slip and I am still fit enough to stand and bowl from 2 yards so why not.
