Here’s how to buy a Series I Land Rover … from Land Rover
Land Rover Classic (Land Rover Heritage as was) has hand-picked 25 Series I chassis from around the world, and each will undergo a meticulous restoration to original 1948 specifications using Land Rover Classic Parts service to source all that’s needed, and offered in a choice of five period finishes – Light Green, Bronze Green, RAF Blue, Dove Grey and Poppy Red. Now we have a Land Rover spin on the theme, the Solihull wing of the Classic business confirming it will rebuild 25 Series I Land Rovers to factory condition and sell them as fully restored vehicles as close to “new” as is possible.

CarAdvice has contacted Land Rover Classic for comment on whether the vehicles will be available to buyers outside of the United Kingdom, and at what price.
“The Jaguar and Land Rover brands are now firmly established in India”. Jaguar will assemble nine XKSS sports cars, which remained unproduced after a fire broke out at the Browns Lane factory in February 1957.
The Classic division will let customers select a base vehicle and follow the progress of the restoration team in the same factory where the Defender, which just ended production weeks ago, was built for decades.
Tony O’Keeffe of Jaguar Land Rover Classic said that once the 25 “new” cars had been produced, the workshop would take in customers’ own cars for restoration or general fettling.
Tim Hannig, director of Jaguar Land Rover Classic, said: “The launch of the Reborn initiative represents a fantastic opportunity for customers to own a valuable and collectable automotive icon”.
But now the really thorny question.
