Lightning’s Jonathan Drouin: Gets game-winner in return to National Hockey League
He asked to come back in March and returned to the AHL on March 7, scoring nine goals in a 10-game span. The Lightning improved to 97 points on the season with their 4-2 win over the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center Thursday night. Tampa Bay Lightning center Cedric Paquette would score his sixth goal of the season to regain the lead for the Lightning.

Taormina, 29, has skated in one game with the Lightning this season, recording one shot on goal. Tampa Bay’s opponent will be determined following Saturday.
Condra, meanwhile, gave Tampa Bay the lead at the 5:45 mark after Brian Boyle did some hard work along the boards to free the puck for Condra, who found Andrej Sustr open across the ice. “You realize sitting at home is not what you want to do”.
Kalinin scored his first goal in 20 games to tie the game, 1-1 in the second. Thankfully, just over seven minutes later, the Tampa Bay Lightning would respond with a goal of their own.
Months after requesting a trade and being demoted to the American Hockey League, the Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled forward Jonathan Drouin with just two games remaining in the team’s regular-season schedule.
Drouin has two goals and six assists in 19 games with the Lightning this year and 11 goals and two assists in 17 games with the Crunch. Note we did say nearly.
As the third period reached the halfway point, the Devils would get another goal which would bring the Lightning’s lead down to one.
Kalinin capped his first two-goal game with a bad-angle shot after Bobby Farnham forced a turnover. The Lightning outshot the Devils 10-3 in the first.

Believing a deal was close, Drouin walked away from the Crunch before a game January 20, sparking a suspension from the Lightning. At this point in the season, now that their playoff position and home-ice advantage have both been secured, the Tampa Bay Lightning needs to concentrate on getting their team healthy, protecting their core players, and preparing to make an impact in the first round.
