Ivanka Trump-brand scarves recalled because of ‘burn risk’

Trump’s campaign has declined to comment on the recall and directed the media to the Trump Organization, where Ivanka serves as the Executive Vice President of Development and Acquisitions. He’s slammed Apple and Ford for doing so.

“These very classy scarves are 100% rayon, manufactured in China and, according to the CPSC “[pose] a burn risk”.

Trump, the businessman, is another story. The scarves “pose a burn risk”, the CSPC said. There have been no reports of injuries from a scarf igniting.

They advise that anyone who now owns one of these scarves–with Trump’s name “embroidered in silver” on a black label on the edges–should return them to retailers immediately. The flammable scarf recall involves two styles: the Beach Wave (blue, coral, and yellow) and the Brushstroke Oblong (blue, red, and green).

Consumers are advised to return the scarves, which besides being sold online are sold at stores such as Century 21, Lord & Taylor and Marshalls, to receive full refunds.

“We’re disappointed to learn of the need for Global Brands Group, our license partner, to recall two styles of Ivanka Trump scarves”, said Tricia Whalen, a spokeswoman for the Ivanka Trump Collection, “but we are relieved that immediate action is being taken”. “We’re seeing to it that this issue is fixed immediately”.
