Alleged mastermind of Dallas dentist’s killing captured
The suspected mastermind of a contract killing was captured in Mexico, days after earning spot as the FBI’s most wanted woman in the death of a Texas dentist, according to a local report. Delgado had ties to Mexico, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said. Police have already arrested the alleged gunman, Kristopher Love, and Crystal Cortes, who police believe drove the alleged shooter to the Gables apartment complex.

“Brenda Delgado was able to effectively manipulate everyone she involved in her calculated scheme”, said Thomas Class Sr. of the FBI’s Dallas division.
Delgado was the 506th person and the ninth woman to be placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, which was established in March 1950.
Brenda Delgado plotted the death of Kendra Hatcher for months before paying two accomplices in cash and drugs from cartel sources to murder Hatcher in a Dallas parking garage on September 2. Both alleged accomplices are in custody.
An indictment said Delgado promised to give Love drugs and money, from herself and a drug cartel, to kill Hatcher.
The boyfriend had dated Delgado for about two years before his relationship with Hatcher.
She is being held in the Santa Martha Acatitla prison in Mexico City while the extradition request is being completed, the Mexican statement added.
A reward of as much as $100,000 was offered for information leading directly to her arrest.
“We’re trying to get her extradited back here”, she said. Delgado was born in Mexico and is a naturalized USA citizen, which means Mexico considers her a citizen and won’t extradite her unless there is an agreement in place saying prosecutors won’t seek the death penalty.

Mexico does not have the death penalty. Dallas County District Attorney Susan Hawk has said Delgado could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted.
