Mets capture baby raccoon in Citi Field weight room
The Mets arrived at Citi Field on Sunday aiming to snap Los Angeles Dodgers ace Zack Greinke’s 43 2/3-inning scoreless streak. Rather than placing the beast on the 40-man roster, the team trapped it using a humane cage and released it into the wild. And why would the Mets have a cage on hand?

Not only did they absolutely thrash the Dodgers 15-2 Saturday night, showering bombs and spraying base hits all over the outfield grass, but then, they were greeted by a small raccoon in the weight room the next morning.
There was apparently a cage at the ready.
“I guess they have a problem”, Parnell said
with a laugh.
ESPN reporter Adam Rubin first reported the incident on Twitter as the baseball team dealt with their unexpected guest.

Parnell insists the raccoon never got defensive like the one in the photo graphic. Little Jerry Seinfeld, a live $8 chicken, was banished to a sanctuary after failing to change the team’s luck a couple of years back. “Yeah, but that was intentional”, manager Terry Collins said Sunday.
