Deputy among four boaters missing off Stuart, officials say
The Coast Guard has found a kayaker reported missing along the SC coast during the weekend while the search for a second continues. The caller said the boat was taking on water, but transmission was lost before he could give his location.

A friend of the kayakers notified the Coast Guard at approximately 9:40 p.m. Saturday when they didn’t return from a trip to Morris Island Lighthouse by sunset. She said the men usually fish offshore near Stuart or near the Intracoastal Waterway.
A Coast Guard helicopter will go up at dawn to join the search, Woodall said.
The search is ongoing and a command post has been set up by the lighthouse where the kayakers’ cars were located.
US Coast Guard officials say a Charleston County sheriff’s boat crew rescued 21-year-old Logan Brown about two miles off Kiawah Island.
