Michelle Fields facing Trump’s ire for arm-tug complaint
The police report in the case says that “probable cause exists to charge Corey Lewandowski… with (1) count of simple battery… in that he did intentionally touch Michelle Fields… against the will of Michelle Fields”.

Cruz said the incident involving Lewandowski is “the effect of the culture of the Trump campaign – the abusive culture when you have a campaign that is built on personal insults, on attacks and now physical violence”.
“(Fields) said she went to the ground, or something to the effect of she nearly went to the ground”, Trump said at a March 29 CNN town hall. Maybe I’m wrong. If he called up, if he said he’s sorry, I think she would have used that against him … “I mean, her face isn’t that of a woman screaming in pain”. He then rubbed his arm, saying, “Anderson, my arm is just killing me, it’s never been the same”.
“I actually don’t think so”, Trump said.
“I’m sure there will be a counter-claim coming down the line”, Trump said.
In her op-ed, Fields went on to say The Washington Post’s Ben Terris identified the aggressor as Lewandowski. In fact, he did so in order to smear Fields as a liar who “made up” the story about being bruised by Lewandowski.
As it turns out, Trump’s own surveillance video of the incident, which was released yesterday by the Jupiter, FL Police Department, clearly shows Lewandowski grab Fields’ arm.
“She wasn’t yanked down”, Trump said of reporter Michelle Fields, who was working at the time for Breitbart News.
Trump pivoted again and again to accuse Fields of grabbing him first as Guthrie repeatedly tried to get him to answer the original question. And it nearly looks like he’s just trying to create a little room because to be honest with you the news conference had finished. “Are we going to destroy a man’s life?” Trump also said he stands by his staff rather than submit to political correctness, and added that, despite an earlier pledge, he now would not promise to support the Republican presidential nominee if it’s not him.

“He tweeted that he never touched her”, Lauer told Trump. “She’s got a pen in her arm, which she’s not supposed to have”. She had a pen in her hand and that could have been a knife. “He will enter a plea of not guilty and looks forward to his day in court”, the statement said. “He is completely confident that he will be exonerated”. Trump addressed the controversy on Today with Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie, where the exchange became heated.
