Clinton readies ad challenging Trump on his home turf of NY
Donald Trump has long promised to “make America great again” on the campaign trail, but according to a new poll, more Americans actually think Hillary Clinton would have greater success doing so.

The election eve rally at the grand Milwaukee Theatre, which featured the heavily promoted campaign return of the GOP front-runner’s wife, was intended as a capstone of Trump’s three-day blitz through the state.
Trump repeatedly insists he could be “the most presidential candidate in history other than honest Abe Lincoln”, but that he is loathe to do away with his brass-knuckle style of political fighting while he is still fending off primary challenges.
Trump is bringing in new staff, including a seasoned Washington operative to run his efforts at the convention, where the nomination appears more likely than ever to be decided. But as we approach the growing prospect of a contested convention, in which delegates can make game-time choices about whom they will support, it’s becoming clearer that Trump may seek to shape the outcome by using his most unwieldy weapon of all: the latent power of usually peaceful people.
“Along comes this voice that says ‘We are not going to stand for that anymore, ‘ ” Beverly Perlson, of Aurora Ill., told The Christian Science Monitor last week. Ted Cruz of “crooked shenanigans”, on Sunday as the candidates head toward a possibly contested Republican National Convention in July.
Greg Freeman, an independent who leans Republican, said he would “absolutely not” trust Trump to handle major issues facing the United States. They always say he’s got no chance.
When Donald Trump walked onstage for his final rally before Wisconsin’s presidential primary, he found an unfamiliar sight: hundreds of empty seats. When I look at it and I see all these victories that I have, all these victories that he’s got.
The brash billionaire’s uncharacteristically quiet week came as his campaign is shifting gears and building out a more delegate-focused strategy under the direction of newly minted convention manager Paul Manafort, a veteran Republican operative. “I’m now running for president to continue the work we’ve done all those years”. And for a guy scrambling to hit the 1,237-delegate mark to clinch the nomination, that counts. He’s recently expanded on his foreign policy views, including questioning USA participation in the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation military alliance and suggesting some Asian nations may need nuclear weapons.

The ad comes as Republican and Democratic candidates campaign across NY. The margin is similar when Americans were asked who they trusted to handle the threat posed by the Islamic State group. Key to her drive is a win April 19 in NY, which she represented in the U.S. Senate. For Democrats, 801 likely primary voters were polled for a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points; for Republicans, 602 likely primary voters were surveyed for a margin of error of plus or minus 4 points. They’re still trying to do their own thing despite the voice of the people.
