On their arrival in India, Kate and William were informed on the tragedy in Kollam, where a fireworks display exploded at the Puttingal temple at 3:15 a.m. on Sunday.
Duchess Kate and Prince William have arrived in Mumbai, India, for their scheduled royal visit.
Prince William, and his wife, Kate, interact with innovative start-ups during the launch of “Tech Rocketship Awards” in Mumbai. William and Kate were pictured bowing their heads and placed a wreath in honor of the dozens who were killed in the deadly incident.
William and Kate then met with cricket legends Sachin Tendukar and Dilip Vengsarkar and as well as the children from nearby slums, at the Oval Maidan recreational ground. On the last day of the trip, they will visit the Taj Mahal, where Princess Diana was famously photographed on a solo trip to the country in 1992. That evening, the pair attended a Bollywood charity gala with some of the country’s biggest movie stars. The entrepreneur added: “He said they would love to have one in their palace and the Duchess said that because you can also use it to make pancakes the whole of London will want one”.
The floor-length, royal-blue gown is by Jenny Packham, famously a favorite designer of Kate’s.
Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William, Duke of Cambridge pay their respects at the place where Mahatma Gandhi’s life ended on January 30, 1948, at Gandhi Smriti, the Old Birla House museum, April 11, 2016 in New Delhi, India.
Others in attendance at the event – which was held at the Taj Palace Hotel in Mumbai – included actor Shah Rukh Khan and actress and model Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
