Biden: ‘I would like to see a woman elected’

He also said he didn’t think Clinton was held to a higher standard than male candidates.

During a sit-down interview with Mic that was released on Monday, Vice President Joe Biden was asked about the social ramifications of what some have called a culture that is disrespectful to women.

A Mic reporter then asked Biden if he wanted the country to elect a woman.

“No, I don’t think she’s held to a higher standard, and this country is ready for a woman”.

Biden and President Barack Obama have both said they will not endorse a candidate in the race for the Democratic nomination, stating that the party should decide. “Hillary’s overwhelmingly qualified to be president”.

Biden and Obama are endorsing candidates further down the ballot, including Tammy Duckworth for Senate, reported the Chicago Sun-Times. But the vice president responded that he had “no problem” and signaled that he would not make an endorsement.

Biden, however, said it was alright and continued answering questions. “And he has credibility on it”. Sanders later walked that comment back.
