The 33-year-old former Miss World, who specially flew down to India from her “Baywatch” shoot in Los Angeles to receive the honour, said Padma Shri is the best award.
Priyanka looked no less than a “Desi” girl, dressed in a lime green sari while receiving the honour.
Priyanka Chopra was named the recipient of Padma Shri for her contributions to Indian Cinema and it was a most-deserving award for her. It seems she has made it her mission to make us proud every day. After being part of Quantico which is doing great on American Television, she will be seen playing a badass baddie in Baywatch which stars A-list Hollywood actors like Dwyane Johnson, Zac Efron and others. He was accompanied by his wife Latha Rajinikanth at the award ceremony.
Rajini, lovingly called “Thalaivar” by his his well-wishers, has worked in both Hindi and Southern films during his three decades-long career.

Padma Awards, the most prestigious honours in the country, for the year of 2016 were announced in January this year and were conferred in two ceremonies.
