PM may revisit Bihar in August

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today claimed that his state has forged ahead in the last 10 years under his stewardship, clocking a 10 per cent growth rate and development in health, roads, power, agriculture and education sectors among others. A senior leader indicated that AAP may campaign against the BJP without supporting any party so that the secular alliance benefits from it.

“The way Shatrughanji lauded Nitish only hours after the prime minister attacked him in Muzaffarpur is an embarrassment”, a senior BJP leader said.

He also said that the Bihar Government has brought development in the state and has changed people’s outlook towards the state.

The meeting between the veteran Bollywood actor and Kumar at the CM’s residence took place not long after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state.

Shatrughan’s meeting with Nitish, however, kicked up a row since he had praised the Chief Minister’s abilities and hailed him as the biggest Vikas Purush (development man).

“Like the Lok Sabha polls, give us two-third majority to develop Bihar“.

Modi said his government’s agenda was to develop eastern India including Bihar. Kumar drives a taxi and works at the airport, while Sinha services Patna’s bustling Fraser road with his auto rickshaw.

He also talked about the cancellation of dinner by me in early 2010, but if he was so pained and hurt why his party continued association with me and went to polls in 2010 under my leadership?

“There is no question of leaving BJP as I have been with the party in both good and bad times”, he added.

Though he needs Lalu for his Yadav votes, Nitish obviously knows he can outsmart the BJP only with his progressive, development-orientated and no-nonsense persona that matches Narendra Modi’s, someone he was pitted against in the company of Lalu Prasad, who seems to be everything that Nitish isn’t.

“It’s for Shatrughan Sinha to take a call”.

He, however, in a lighter vein said people might derive different meaning from saffron revolution (colour of BJP flag), but it meant revolution in the field of energy.

A total of Rs 14,680 crore worth projects have already been approved out of which projects amounting to Rs 5,827 crore have been approved for Bihar state. Initially, I did not listen to them even as the number of party men pressing me for this kept on growing.
