The actor best known for playing “Screech” on “Saved By The Bell” is out of jail early.

The 39-year-old actor had been placed in a work release program after beginning his four-month sentence in mid-January for a barroom stabbing.

Yes, way back in 2006, Diamond attempted to raise $250,000 to save his Port Washington home by selling T-shirts that read “Save My House” and “I paid $15.00 to save Screeech’s house”. Diamond was first arrested on Christmas Day in 2014 after stabbing a man, Casey Smet, during a bar fight at the Grand Ave. He knocked off the final month of his sentence by performing custodial tasks, including laundry and mopping the prison floors. Diamond said he did it because his girlfriend was being harassed.

Diamond had also received a felony charge of recklessly endangering public safety, but he was cleared and convicted of the two misdemeanors instead.
