Ford GT supercar made to order
Ford has just cracked the order books for the new GT, of which only 500 will be built over the next two years.

Fear not though. While the chances of you ever owning a new GT are incredibly slim, you can at least visualise your dream designs with Ford’s online configurator.
Accepted applicants from around the world will be contacted by the concierge and provided a tailored experience – not only through the ordering and delivery but through years of ownership. “We understand GT customers are strong ambassadors for Ford Motor Company, and we look forward to providing them a service as distinct as the vehicle itself”. Although if you have owned the last GT, and still do, Ford will probably smile on your application to buy too.
The Ford GT is the most advanced Ford production vehicle ever, featuring the latest in lightweighting, aerodynamics and EcoBoostengine technology – an innovation showcase for the Ford brand.
In a statement, Ford said that “if approved, [GT owners] will complete their purchase with the help of their dealer and the new Ford GT Concierge Service”.
The new Ford GT is expected to be on the road later this year, but unfortunately it won’t be a case of “first come, first served” if you’re planning on queuing overnight at the dealership. The site will also allow anyone, even those who have no shot at buying one of the cars, to select options and customize an imaginary GT. Ford also opened its online GT configurator today, where you can cycle through combinations of eight paint colors and seven stripe colors, plus goodies like matte and glossy carbon fiber trim and several space exploration-themed interiors (“Launch Control”, “Light Speed”, “Re-Entry”).
The supercar will be powered by a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 capable of producing over 600 horsepower.

Pricing of the new Ford GT begins in the $400,000s excluding other details such as extras, options, and destination and delivery fees.
