Wilson is coming off a career-best season of 20 goals and 42 points, which was definitely a sign he enjoyed playing under Peter Laviolette’s system compared to what Barry Trotz preached. Wilson will be paid $3.75 million in 2015-16, then $4 million in 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2018-19 for an average annual value of $3.9375 million.
Smith and the Poile went through with their hearing last week, but settled on a five-year, .75 million deal while the arbitrator was making an award decision. His SCF% ranked eighth in the National Hockey League. For his career, he has accumulated 178 points (77 goals and 101 assists) in 368 regular season games. During the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the 6-1, 216-pounder set franchise records for goals (5) and power-play goals (4) in a playoff series during the Western Conference Quarterfinals vs Chicago. In nine global games as part of the senior NT in the 2009 world championships, he contributed 2 assists.
