Ross sued Sheen in December for assault, battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress claims.

The investigation stems from a report police received from the alleged victim on March 31, Lopez said. They have also served a search warrant in connection with the investigation.

The report says LAPD officers showed up at the NY headquarters of American Media Inc., the parent company of the two publications, with a search warrant to obtain audio tapes and other related materials, however, Dylan Howard, the editor and chief of the National Enquirer and the editorial director of RadarOnline, refused to comply with the demand.

Ludwig could not share any information about the investigation or any details about who brought the accusation against Sheen to the LAPD, but the lawyer of Sheen’s former fiancé confirmed that he was being investigated for threatening his client’s life.

Ms Rossi reportedly went to a Los Angeles police station last Thursday after learning of the recording. She claims he did not tell her he was HIV positive until after they’d had sex five times. “This piece of sh– needs to be f–ing buried”. According to her lawsuit, Sheen would often become “violent and abusive” while drinking and doing drugs.

“Honestly, she’s terrified”, the source said.

“Charlie Sheen intends to vigorously defend the lawsuit filed by Brett Rossi aka Scottine Ross”.

As the discussion continued, Sheen allegedly threatened Ross’s safety by implying he was going to have her killed.

What happened between the two of them isn’t known.

Sheen’s rep had no comment, but a police spokesperson told E! He accused her of having violated a non-disclosure agreement by making Sheen’s HIV status public. That suit is on hold, pending arbitration, till May 2017. Less than 24 hours later, a judge granted the order and even moments after the order, Brett said she was already planned to file an extension to make Charlie keep his distance.
