“Apparently she was jealous because the victim was dating her ex-boyfriend”, Special Agent Jason Ibrahim, a member of the FBI’s Dallas Violent Crimes Task Force, said in a statement.
A woman suspected of orchestrating the slaying of a prominent Dallas dentist who was dating her ex-boyfriend, was arrested by authorities in Mexico on Friday.
Brenda Delgado plotted the death of Kendra Hatcher for months before paying two accomplices in cash and drugs from cartel sources to murder Hatcher in a Dallas parking garage on September 2.
Delgado faces charges of capital murder and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.
Delgado was the 506th person and the ninth woman to be placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list, which was established in March 1950.
Delgado was arrested in the Mexican town of Torreón, Coahuila, according to the release. Co-conspirator Kristopher Love, the alleged gunman, is also facing capital murder charges.
Agents with INTERPOL Mexico reportedly transferred Delgado to Mexico City, where she will be detained in the prison of Santa Marta Acatitla to await extradition to the United States.
“I don’t she’s [Delgado] insane”, said Hatcher.
The FBI described Delgado, a Mexican national, as a “master manipulator”.
A reward of $100,000 was offered for information leading to her capture, CNN reported. “She’s still charged with capital murder, which carries a life sentence”.
Days before the killing, Delgado discovered her ex-boyfriend and Hatcher were planning to vacation in Mexico, according to authorities.

Mexico does not have the death penalty. Her full name is Brenda Berenice Delgado Reynaga and she was born June 18, 1982. Dallas litigators originally wanted the death penalty for Delgado, but they had to remove that to get her extradited from Mexico. Doing so may result in civil and/or criminal penalties.
