Zlatan Ibrahimovic ‘not worried’ about missed chances against Man City

A Kevin De Bruyne strike gave the Premier League side the lead in the first half, but the scoresheet was levelled within three minutes as Zlatan Ibrahimovic shot to the centre of the goal.

City stood toe-to-toe with the French champions and traded blows with them before coming out on top in the quarter-final, first leg clash.

PSG owner Nasser al Khelaifi echoed a similar feeling: “It’s not the best result but the good thing is we have to go and win in Manchester”. “I don’t know if it has to do with nervousness but we made a lot of technical mistakes, especially for City’s second goal – and we all know the importance of away goals. This was an important result and we are going to be very excited to play the (second) game, especially because it will be at home in front of all our fans”.

Unfortunately for us in the second half, the second goal of Paris Saint-Germain was absolutely offside. We must finish this game at home but you must have the personality to play no matter what pitch we play on.

The Belgian medical team still believe that Kompany needs more time to recover and have urged City to show caution with the start of Euro 2016 just over two months away.

The England No. 1, who saved an early penalty from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, said: “There is definitely an opportunity there, but 2-2 is no foregone conclusion”.

Ibrahimovic’s leveller was the direct outcome of a howler from midfielder Fernando, while City were also indebted to goalkeeper Joe Hart for saving a penalty from the enigmatic frontman after Bacary Sagna’s foul on David Luiz.

We’ll, nearly certainly get chances, as we did at the Parc des Princes last night! It is very hard when you concede two goals in a home game.

Pellegrini was pleased with his side’s display in Paris as they claimed two potentially crucial away goals. “We must not talk about the semi-final”, he said.

Both teams were without key midfielders as City’s Yaya Toure was ruled out with a knee injury and PSG’s Marco Verratti was sidelined with a groin problem.

Tuesday’s action saw Barcelona take a 2-1 lead over Spanish rivals Atlético Madrid, while Bayern Munich held serve against Benfica, winning 1-0.

Pellegrini however was alarmed by the defensive frailties exhibited by his team and blamed the linesman for overlooking an off-side during PSG’s second goal.

We’ll simply have to make sure we take them!

The Italian coach stressed: “The way we play, we are not used to playing to try and draw”.
