At GoPro, Coster will be working as the vice president of design starting later this month.

The Information reports Danny Coster, who has worked at Apple since the early 1990s on notable projects like the iPhone and iPad, has joined GoPro to lead a new design group. And with Apple’s track record of hit products, it’s rare to hear about one of its design team members leaving the company. He will report to GoPro CEO and founder Nick Woodman.

While Coster’s naming as the VP of design for the company, rumors are that he’s also set to develop another project within GoPro.

In GoPro’s announcement of the news, Woodman said he first met Coster 15 years ago at a beach in Sayulita, Mexico, during a 5-month surfing trip in which Woodman developed the initial prototype for the camera. Coster however, will surely make his work speak for it self as it has previously done over his career alongside Apple, which dates back as far as the 90s.
