Netflix president Ted Sarandos on “Arrested Development” Season 5

Although producer Brian Grazer originally promised 17 episodes, he is now telling CNN that the total number is still in flux. No number has been mentioned this time.

Writers are now being drafted by showrunner Mitch Hurwitz who has scheduled the production to begin in January 2016.

In the meantime, we’ll have all eight episodes of Wet Hot this Friday to soak our reunion buzz, but how much longer might we wait for Arrested Development Season 5? “We’re going to get everybody on board”.

Grazer and Netflix have been talking constantly about making a fifth season of the cult show, but there is still no deal between Netflix and 20th Century Fox TV, which produces the show.

“Plus, it looks as though there is not yet a deal in place between Netflix and Fox, with Netflix having declined to make any comment in the wake of Grazer’s interview”, the site added. “‘Arrested Development’s’ cast are all busy with other projects, and it will be quite the task to assemble them all for another outing”. “It is our intent to have a new season of ‘Arrested Development.’ All the negotiations are underway”.
