As of a few weeks ago at the National Football League owners meetings, Rex Ryan and Doug Whaley were still holding out hope Harvin would return for 2016 and want to take a discount to play for the Bills.

Wide receiver Percy Harvin will enter retirement at the ripe age of 27.
According to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, Harvin informed those close to him as well as members of the Buffalo Bills of his intention to call it a career.
The Bills eventually placed him on their injured-reserve list with knee and hip problems, bringing his 2015 season and and his career to an end.
The high point of Harvin’s career was in 2011, when he made 87 catches for 967 receiving yards and six touchdowns. But when he did play, Harvin was electric.
Harvin originally signed a three-year deal with the Bills, but the final two years were voided to clear salary cap space. In the Seahawks’ run to the 2013 Super Bowl, Harvin played little because of a bad hip but had a key role in Super Bowl XLVIII. It seemed like there should have been more highlights for Harvin, but he does have the one from the Super Bowl to remember.

For his career – which included a stint with the New York Jets in the second half of the 2014 season – Harvin had 351 receptions for 4,020 yards and 22 touchdowns. He had 29 touchdowns in those four Vikings seasons before being traded to Seattle in 2013.
