Lundqvist injured as Penguins top Rangers in Game 1
Pittsburgh Penguins’ Sidney Crosby, center, celebrates his breakaway goal with teammates Conor Sheary (43) and Patric Hornqvist (72) during the second period of a first-round NHL playoff hockey game against the New York Rangers in Pittsburgh, Wednesday, April 13, 2016. He was called on after starter Henrik Lundqvist was struck in the right eye by an inadvertent stick from teammate Marc Staal late in the first period, and did not return for the start of the second. Staal was tied up in front of the NY net when his stick found its way in between the bars on Lundqvist’s facemask.

The New York Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins play game two of their playoff series Saturday afternoon.
Get ready for the NY Rangers vs Pittsburgh Penguins Game 1 tonight on local TV broadcasts or live streaming. He has been out since March 31 with his second concussion of the season. Hrivik had played a game for the Wolf Pack on Wednesday that started at 11 a.m.in Toronto, and was not in the Rangers lineup. It remains to be seen if this is because NY wants to play some gamesmanship like Mike Sullivan did or if Henrik Lundqvist is legitimately going to miss some time.
“That was definitely a turning point in the game”, said Rangers coach Alain Vigneault, who had no medical update on Lundqvist after the game. Last night’s game took place at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.
Zatkoff shut out the Rangers on 22 shots over the first two periods as Pittsburgh led 2-0.
It was the first postseason action for the 26-year-old Raanta, who played in 25 games in his first season with the Blueshirts. He opened the scoring for this year’s playoffs with a one-timer laser beam in the first period. He had little to do until a stretch pass from Hornqvist sprung Crosby in alone. It was the first multi-goal playoff game of Hornqvist’s career and the hats reigned down from the Pittsburgh faithful as the empty netter gave him a hat-trick to go along with an assist as well.
Marc Staal noticed the gaudy record, the highlight reel goals, the unrelenting speed and can’t help but be impressed with the way the Pittsburgh Penguins have ripped through the National Hockey League over the last three months. Despite winning playoff series against Pittsburgh in 2014 and 2015, the Rangers are 2-4 all-time against the Penguins in the postseason…. Derek Stepan leads NY with two goals, Dan Boyle has one assist and Derick Brassard has five shots on goal.
In conclusion, the Penguins are talented enough offensively to win a few games or maybe even a first-round series without Fleury, but they will not win a Stanley Cup without him.

The Rangers did not cash in on a lengthy five-on-four power play on Hagelin’s penalty, and they failed on chances throughout the game.
