Hurley, 33, says his father does not have a history of mental illness.
Hurley cried as he announced to reporters on Tuesday that his mother has filed a missing-persons report for his father, a retired police officer.
“Last Sunday, nine days ago, he took some clothes, took some cash, and no ones heard from him since”. So he’s been gone about nine days, I guess.
“Right now, we don’t have a lot to go on, other than he left for one reason or another on his own accord”, Dube said. “It’s complete speculation as to why he left”.
He’s been married to my mom for 30-plus years.
“I hope he understands that, dad, we love you and we just want you to come home”, Hurley said in the news conference, adding that he hopes sharing the news will help people locate his father.
According to a Golf Week profile on his son, Willard Hurley and his wife, Cheryl, have four children, Billy Hurley III being the oldest.
Willard Hurley, 61, lives in Leesburg, Virginia, where the younger Hurley grew up.
“Since then, we kind of ran into a brick wall”, he said.

WTOP reports that Willard Hurley had been a cop in Leesburg for over 25 years. He just needs his name on a schedule of tee times and the leaderboard to get a message to his father. “It’s really special for me”.
