Eagerly-anticipated film The Martian, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Matt Damon will have its world premiere at the festival as will Stephen Frears’ The Program, about Lance Armstrong.

Scott’s The Martian – a 20th Century Fox film starring Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jeff Daniels and Kristen Wiig – will bow in Toronto ahead of its October 2 U.S. theatrical release.
Redmayne appears as a transgender pioneer in The Danish Girl, while Moore stars in gay rights drama Freeheld.
In addition to “Remember“, other Canadian titles include Deepa Mehta’s “Beeba Boys“, Paul Gross’s war saga “Hyena Road” and Lenny Abrahamson’s “Room“, – a Canada/Ireland co-production based on Emma Donoghue’s bestselling 2010 novel of the same name.
There’s a gala first look for the Liam Hemsworth-starring Aussie romantic drama The Dressmaker, from director Jocelyn Moorhouse and with Kate Winslet and Judy Davis in lead roles. Long considered an agenda setter for the upcoming awards season, the Toronto worldwide Film Festival unveils the lineup on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, for their 40th annual event, running from September 1020, 2015.
Denis Villeneuve’s border drama “Sicaro”, starring Emily Blunt and Benicio Del Toro, premiered earlier this year at the Cannes Film Festival and will screen in Toronto in advance of its September 18 release.
Sicario is one of many Canadian-directed films expected at TIFF.

Possible Oscar contenders will also be among them, including Redmayne and Moore, the respective winners of Best Actor and Best Actress at the most recent Academy Awards, are each bringing films to Toronto hoping to strike gold again.
