Reince Priebus: Trump’s criticism of GOP delegate system is a distraction

RNC chairman Reince Priebus responded to the criticism from Trump on Twitter on Tuesday, after he blasted the party in a CNN town hall.

Brendan Quinn, the former executive director of the New York GOP, said losing out on even a few delegates in New York could have an impact on Trump’s bid for 1,237 delegates nationwide – the mark to avoid a contested GOP convention in July.

A top Donald Trump adviser told House Republicans Thursday there’s no need to worry about a contested Republican National Convention, promising to clinch the nomination outright in June.

Saunderstown resident Ruth Zaccaria was rooting for Marco Rubio. Cruz is going after them, in anticipation of a brokered convention.

“I would consider who wins the popular vote in my congressional district”, Thomas said, “but it’s not a slam dunk”. “Now, he went in there not to be a game player”. This clears the way for Warren in 2020 who’ll face much clear sailing against the wreckage of what once was the Grand Old Party.

And he did shake things up. The prize of becoming president of the United States and potentially a true world leader is worth the effort. But he’s also lesser known – 22 percent have no opinion of him. However, Rule 38 does say that no delegate may be “bound” by the “unit rule”, meaning that delegates from a state can’t all be forced to vote the same way. Elections are unpredictable, however, and there is still the potential scandal that either leaks or emerges that Trump simply can not spin. I’m not really in this for the goal of actually stopping anybody.

Smith ran for state Senate a couple of years ago.

The Post doesn’t shy away on criticizing Trump’s policies.

Smith is hopeful Trump won’t get the nomination.

“I have a very good team and we’re going to hunt delegates”, Kasich said.

Anti-Trump candidates could have joined forces and encouraged tactical voting. It’s more of a vote against Trump.

“It’s nearly like a military decision, and you’ve got to consider the latest intelligence”, he said. Not only are they unpopular, they are also getting more unpopular as time goes on.

Vargas may not even vote Republican, or vote at all, if Trump is the nominee. Others said: “Deport Trump”, “No allegiance for Trump”, and “Black lives matter”. The most recent poll shows Trump is leading in the state among likely Republican voters and independent voters.

If the national convention isn’t settled on the first ballot, it looks likely that numerous 50 delegates from the Palmetto State would desert Trump, who came in first in the primary, but with only 33 percent of the vote.

The Ohio governor vowed Thursday that he would “leave Cleveland as the nominee, whether you believe it or not” to a cheering crowd at the New York State GOP gala.
