The kicker? He will do it in the headliner of the Fight Pass exclusive UFC Fight Night 90.

The UFC’s upcoming International Fight Week has gotten even more stacked, as the promotion has confirmed that lightweight champs Rafael dos Anjos will battle Eddie Alvarez on July 7th.

Also at the MGM Grand on July 8, the UFC is set to stage the finale of its reality television series “The Ultimate Fighter”, with a main event featuring a title fight between the show’s coaches, strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and top-ranked contender Claudia Gadelha. The Brazilian successfully defended the belt with a quick TKO of Donald Cerrone last December.

UFC Fight Night 90 is a part of the massive week of fights surrounding UFC 200.

The announcement is the latest in a string of noticeably stronger offerings for Fight Pass subscribers, but that knowledge probably doesn’t do much to assuage Dos Anjos, who, one imagines, can’t help but feel at least a tiny bit wistful over missing his date with McGregor, only to receive this match in return. He lost his debut to Donald Cerrone but has since earned victories over Gilbert Melendez and Anthony Pettis.

The only title fight on the UFC 200 card is women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate defending the belt she won by submitting Holly Holm on March 5. The No. 1 ranked fighter in the USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA lightweight rankings was forced out of a planned title defense against featherweight champion Conor McGregor at UFC 196 after suffering an injury to his foot.
