Conley had gone to meet his friends in Locke Park in Barnsley on Sunday evening, spending two hours with them before leaving to go home at around 8pm. He was due to return home, but police were alerted about two hours later when he did not turn up.
One neighbour, who did not want to give a name, said: “I don’t know the family but this is a close-knit area and word spreads like wildfire”. However, he failed to return home and the alarm was raised.
A spokesman for site developer Howard Civil Engineering said: “We are co-operating fully with the police investigation into this tragic incident”.
Tragically, the authorities discovered the body of a young boy this morning at 8.30am in a local construction site.
Det Insp Victoria Limited, major the exploration, stated: ” we’re profoundly saddened by this tragic advancement and We deployed our complete sources having authorities exploring through the evening to get Conley.
“He played with all the kids in the area”.
Conley’s grandmother Deborah Fraser went to the site to pay tribute to her grandson and said she was “shellshocked” by his death.
“There was lots of people on Facebook and others going out to look for him, so people were very concerned for him”.
“I often see him playing about on the street”.
Peter Taylor, manager of Security Guards UK, said the company was no longer employed on the site, although its signs remained.
“We were pulled off immediately without any notice, we then reiterated the issues”. He has been missing since 8pm last night.
