Sanders, Clinton Battle in New York Democratic Debate

Mrs. Clinton has released eight years of full tax information on her website. Bernie Sanders of Vermont speaks during a campaign event in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York, April 9, 2016. Sanders says the meeting took place Saturday morning before the pope left for his one-day visit to Greece. She said he has received calls from people asking if he would consider switching to Sanders, but he said he hasn’t heard a compelling reason to do so. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) thought the country could be fixed by shooting people on Wall Street.

Clinton has long maintained that she will release the transcripts of her paid speeches when every other candidate in both parties does the same.

Unlike what is happening in the Republican camp, the Democratic presidential candidate nomination race has not been ugly so far.

“Yes, I think it’s an obscene amount of money”, the Academy Award winning actor tells “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd.

Sanders’ campaign simultaneously released an email quoting journalist Jeffrey Goldberg as saying that Clinton as secretary of state during President Barack Obama’s first term “stayed away” from the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Hillary Clinton backfired and said, “When asked about a number of foreign policy issues, he could not answer about Afghanistan, about Israel, about counterterrorism”.

Clinton: I have said, look, there are certain – there are certain expectations when you run for president.

Nationally, Clinton has the support of about 48 percent of Democrats, while Sanders has the support of around 45 percent of them, according to the HuffPost Pollster.

“I want to say something about this, since we’re talking about the Supreme Court and what’s at stake”, Clinton said. “Describing the problem is a lot easier than trying to solve it”, she said. A McClatchy/Marist poll also placed Sanders ahead of Clinton by two points.

After a few seconds, he turned back and appeared to refer to another debate moment – when Sanders worked to downplay his rival’s major primary wins in the South. “You know, surely he didn’t mean to denigrate her African-American supporters in the South, either”, he added.

Where he excelled: While Ms. Clinton got in some good hits against Mr. Sanders for having ideas without practical solutions, that vision still plays well with many voters on the Democratic side.
