Ace Frehley, a former KISS member and guitarist, was hospitalized for exhaustion and dehydration at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital in Pennsylvania, according to Frehley’s Facebook page on Saturday.
As a result of the admittance, Frehley had to cancel a sold-out show in Poughkeepsie, New York, that was scheduled for tonight.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Ace said there was never any bad blood between him and his former kiss bandmate, despite what has been reported in the press.
Frehley, who is still in hospital as of this writing, will be returning to his adopted home of Southern California to recuperate, the statement added.
Frehley’s bout with dehydration and exhaustion and concert cancellation came just a day after KISS was forced to perform on Friday as a trio for only the second time ever in the band’s 40-year career, following a tear to the bicep tendon that guitarist Paul Stanley experienced.
The site says he had to cancel a show April 9 in New Hope, Pennsylvania, after a band member was sick.
Ace Frehley’s new cover album, Origins Vol. 1, features a cover of the Free song “Fire and Water” with Stanley.

Be Civil – It’s OK to have a difference in opinion but there’s no need to be a jerk. (Frehley and Peter Kriss aren’t part of the current lineup of Kiss, and Stanley and Simmons are the only originals). Store officials said more than 400 showed up. With 2014’s “Space Invader”, Frehley showed he can still write quirky, compelling rock songs, and this album shows his playing chops and classic rock sensibilities remain in fine form.
