Latest And Perhaps Last Debate Highlights Animosity Of Sanders, Clinton
(As a frequent target of said Bros, I maintain that they are a small and likely unrepresentative part of Sanders support.) A lot of people assumed he was straight up riffing on sexist assumptions that a woman can never be good enough, even if she has been both a senator and the secretary of state. The two candidates were tied in upstate NY, according to the poll.

Clinton criticized her opponent for failing to detail how he would implement his sweeping promises and stressed the depth of her experience, portraying herself as Barack Obama’s heir.
Sanders stood by claims he has made in recent weeks that Israel’s actions during the 2014 war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip were “disproportionate”. She believed in protecting all kinds of rights-not just economic but civil rights, gender rights, reproductive rights, and tearing down needless barriers.
On the fight for a $15 minimum wage, Clinton said NY should be a model for the nation, with some areas starting at $15, and some moving there gradually.
THE FACTS: It sure sounded like she was blaming just three days earlier, when she told a NY campaign audience that guns used in crimes there mostly come from outside the state, and “the highest per-capita number of those guns that end up committing crime in NY come from Vermont”.
LUCAS JACKSON/REUTERS Sanders came off as very negative as he attacked Clinton for most of Thursdays debates, to the thrill of his supporters.
Hillary Clinton said gas from shale is the bridge to a cleaner future, though rival Bernie Sanders said embracing fossil fuels was the wrong policy move.
“We can not continue to be one-sided”, he said.
These attacks on Clinton are consonant with Sanders’ larger indictment of the banking system, Wall Street, the financing of political campaigns in general and the presumptuous nature of the Clinton campaign in particular.
Clinton, however sought to take Sanders to task on his record on gun control, which she paints as lax.
“Hillary Clinton must wake up every morning and say to the mirror, ‘How in the world can I not shake this self-proclaimed socialist?’ Honestly, this should be the narrative dominating the news”.
CNN hosted the debate between the former Secretary of State Clinton and Vermont Sen. She has repeatedly cited a speech she gave to the financial industry in December 2007 as proof that she gave Wall Street a dressing-down for its behavior as the sector slipped into crisis.
During Thursday night’s debate, Hillary Clinton said there were some positive aspects of the law, such as its expanded legal protections for women, but she expressed regret about the incarceration provisions.
“I’m going to work my heart out here in NY until the polls close on Tuesday”.
But since then, as the primaries and caucuses have evolved and Clinton’s lead among pledged delegates has remained stubbornly above 200, Sanders has chosen, or been forced, to adopt a different tack.

Sanders noted that he does better in the polls, meaning that in hypothetical matchups against the various Republican candidates, he scores better than Clinton. “I’m going to work in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Delaware and Maryland, all the way through California”, she said.
