Trump Dominates GOP Field in New York, Kasich Second
But even if it doesn’t, at least some of the 171 delegates Rubio claimed before leaving the race last month will be barred from voting for anyone else – Trump, Texas Sen.

Brendan Quinn, the former executive director of the New York GOP, said losing out on even a few delegates in New York could have an impact on Trump’s bid for 1,237 delegates nationwide – the mark to avoid a contested GOP convention in July. Instead, delegates were chosen, and “a planned vote had been canceled”.
Pennsylvania’s delegate system for Republicans is unusual because 17 delegates will go to the victor of the primary, but 54 delegates still will be free to vote for whomever they want.
“I think there’s a good chance we could see any of the three right now”, said Knochel.
After the delegates were selected Wednesday morning, state party officials began calling them individually to let them know they would be attending the convention in Cleveland, one in delegate told CNN. “We are telling people “only vote for people who are saying they’ll vote for Ted Cruz”. And despite leading in the polls overall, Trump has received the backing of just one out of 57 delegates thus far.
However, South Carolina is not the only place Trump has failed to organize at the state level.
“Trump has electrified the public, drawing millions of new voters to the polls and inspiring people who’d given up on ever having a candidate who’d fight for them”, the Post’s editorial board wrote in the op-ed. You’ve already won your home state of Canada.
“Look, Donald, I’m not going to pander to New Yorkers”, said Cruz.
The Trump delegate, Dr. Jon Baker, said he believes that overall the setup has hurt the national front-runner.
“Well that’s a very generous offer, Donald”, said Cruz.
But the Pennsylvania system doesn’t have any guarantees. “How can he do this, how can somebody who lost, try to get delegates?”, he wondered. “Absolutely”, said Shorb, who is uncommitted.
Some Donald Trump supporters say they’re being shut out of the delegate selection around the country for this summer’s convention.

Andrews was surprised to receive five recent emails from the Ted Cruz campaign, asking him to support electing Cruz delegates, or become a Cruz delegate when the Republicans meet in May at their state convention.
