Senate aims to vote on defunding Planned Parenthood
Republicans were hoping that might encourage Democrats to vote to pull money away from Planned Parenthood, which even some abortion-rights Democrats have avoided defending since the videos were released.

The video has caused a large outcry, and was referenced by several pro-life groups at the “Women Betrayed” rally outside the State Capitol.
The protests are in response to an undercover video that appears to show a doctor for Planned Parenthood casually speaking about the sale of fetal tissue for medical research.
The latest undercover video of Planned Parenthood’s business selling unborn baby body parts has been released, and it’s the most shocking yet. “The good news is, I think we are changing”.
It is illegal to sell fetal tissue for profit, but legal for a group to recover the costs of donating the tissue. “So we want to make sure every single one of those children get to achieve their potential”.
Staff members at the Planned Parenthood near University Avenue stepped outside to spread their own message: “Health Care Happens Here”.
Meadows also said Congress should investigate Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood provides birth control, testing for sexually-transmitted infections, mammograms, abortion services, gynecological exams, emergency contraception, cervical cancer diagnosis and treatment, pregnancy testing and other health services.
Margaret Conditt (R-Liberty Twp.) responded to those videos with legislation that calls for the state to stop the distribution of a series of federal funds to any facilities that perform or promote abortions.
“Planned Parenthood does not deserve another dime of our taxes”.
About 70 abortion opponents gathered outside the Metro courthouse Tuesday to protest federal funding of Planned Parenthood.
Another local rally was planned for Tuesday afternoon in Kissimmee.
Demonstrations like this were held across the country.

In a statement, Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky spokesperson Tammy Lieber says the group does not participate in any tissue donation programs and complies with all laws and regulations. The Center for Medical Progress has said they will continue to release these videos.
