Authorities say the boy weighed 38 pounds – about 10 pounds below the average for a boy that age – and appeared to be starved and dehydrated.

A 7-year-old Hardwick boy taken to a hospital after allegedly being abused and starved by his father has awoken from his coma, according to his family.

Investigators detailed the boy’s nightmare life in newly released court documents reviewed by the Worcester Telegram and Gazette.

The Hardwick man pleaded not guilty to assault and endangerment charges last week.

Lints called 911 on July 14 and claimed he’d found the child unconscious in his bed at their home in Hardwick, Mass.

Jack remains in coma but his mother says he is improving slowly but surely.

He had “fairly extensive” bruising on his head, more on an arm and unusual, unexplained marks on the soles of his feet that doctors suspect might be burns, according to court documents.

Lints lived with his girlfriend and her three children. Worried, Loiselle to file complaints to the police, but nothing came of them.

The report said Lints is a strict disciplinarian who was forcing the boy to continuously wash the floors, which contributed to his injuries.

Loiselle told the Boston Globe that her son stopped acting like himself, and lost interest in the treats and games he once found joy in.

She claims that Jack started strangling and hitting one of his siblings and badly injured a kitten who later had to be euthanized.
